It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to Robert John “Bob” Becker who passed away on January 5th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born in Highland Park, IL to Carl and Margaret Becker on January 1st, 1959. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Carl Thomas Becker, Aurora, IL. He is survived by his wife Karlene Becker of Sandwich, IL and a daughter, Rhonda Becker of Weaverville, NC, two stepdaughters; Marcy Miles (Erik), Charlotte, NC and Alesia Sven (Robert), Bradenton, FL two brothers; Tom Becker, Aurora, IL and Keith Becker (Amy), Millington, IL and two sisters; Susan Chesney (Jim), Aurora, IL and Deborah Watkins (Gary) of Denver, CO. Bob also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many dear friends who loved him. Bob graduated from Aurora West High School in 1977 where he was very active in sports and a particularly good baseball player earning the title of MVP his senior year. Bob met his wife Karlene and they were married and moved to California where they had their daughter, Rhonda Becker. Bob was a Captain in the US Marine Corps and served his country with pride. He most recently worked at Menards and enjoyed his job. When Bob was younger he loved aviation and became a pilot and later earned a degree in aviation maintenance from Lewis University. Anyone who knew him did not question his loyalty to the Chicago Cubs and the Bears and his love of the music of the late great, Elvis Presley. Bob was strong and kind-hearted to the end and he will be missed by those who loved and knew him. Never forget… Memorial donations can be made in memory of Bob to the American Cancer Society.
