Rita Myers

January 14, 1937 — October 15, 2025

Rita Diemer Myers passed away on October 15, 2025, to join her husband and her two sons in heaven. She was born on January 14, 1937, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Luther and Ruth (Reiss) Diemer. She was a graduate of Freeport High School, class of 1955. Rita married Robert Myers on March 10, 1956, in Belvidere, IL. She worked for GC Electronics and retired from Kmart after 25 years, retiring in 1996. In her spare time Rita attended all the children's sports games, especially baseball. She followed her son Rodney all through his pro baseball career. Rita then followed her grandson Justin to all his baseball games, and spending time with grandson Tyler and his kids. She went to many of Tierny Myers sports activities as well. Rita loved to travel and go to casinos, especially Arizona. She also enjoyed going to the Pec Thing for many years.

Rita is survived by her children Robert Jr. (Debbie Thompson) Myers, Rhonda (Kim Allsen) Myers, and Rodney (Pam) Myers; three grandsons Matt (Monica), Justin (Morgan), and Tyler (Ashley) Myers; granddaughter Tierny Myers; great grandsons Julian, Tyler Jr., and Gavin; two sisters Joann Bardell of Belvidere and Bonnie (John) Barmore of Freeport; brother-in-law George Myers; sisters-in-law Jan and Debbie Myers; special people Kelley and Wayne Whitlock and Carla Nipps. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Robert; sons Rocky and Ricky Myers.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Arlington Cemetery, 6202 Charles St., Rockford, IL 61108. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 3829 11 ^th St., Rockford, IL 61109.
