Richard Wicaryus

November 25, 1943 — June 7, 2025

Richard "Dick" John Wicaryus, 81, of Capron, IL, passed away in his home on June 7, 2025. He was born November 25, 1943, in Chicago, IL; the son of Stanley and Stephanie (Bieronski) Wicaryus. Dick graduated from St. Benedictine High School in Lisle, IL in 1962 and served in the United States Army. He married Laura Leingang in South Dakota on July 6, 1979. Dick was an electrician by trade but worked as a shop mechanic for Dean Foods where he retired from in 2011. When his son was in school, he volunteered at the Capron Grade School and helped build their playset. He was a "Less is More" type of guy. He was simple to the point and enjoyed his Old Style and a cigar. He loved his farm and his property and was quick to help any farmers in the area.

Survivors include his stepdaughter Jill (Brad) Hayes; grandsons Austin (Zoe), Zach, and Justin "J.J." Wicaryus; granddaughter Kaylynn (Mitchel) Levi; step grandchildren Jenna (Brian) Skowronek, Jessica (Devon) Hayes, Brandon (Janessa) Hayes, and Tatum Hayes; and great grandchildren Alana, Luca, and Zander. He is predeceased by his parents; wife Laura; son James Wicaryus; stepson Phillip Masek; and sister Pat Cosgriff.
