Richard (Dick) Arden Green
April 18, 1946 - December 2, 2023
A limb has fallen from the family tree, that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life. I lived while I was strong.
Richard (Dick) Arden Green, Age: 77, of Loves Park, Illinois, died of complications due to multiple strokes on December 2nd, 2023. He was born in Sterling, Illinois on April 18th,1946 to Milton and Violet (Kitzmiller) Green. Who spent their lives loving and supporting their three sons: Kennard (Marlene) Green, Robert (Elsie) Green and Richard (Adele) Green. He graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1964. Throughout his life Richard enjoyed many hobbies. He loved to travel to Michigan International and Bristol Speedways for Nascar races. Richard found the greatest joy in boating and spending time on the water.
Richard was the president of The Rock River Rat Boat Club for many years.
He frequented his cabin on Lake Koshkonong in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. For many years Richard was a sports enthusiast and spent his free time refereeing high school football and basketball, as well as men and co-rec softball. His officiating partner and life-long friend Tom Roland and Richard were inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991. Richard was also a part of the United States Slow Pitch Softball Association for 25 years and the IHSA Football Association for 15 years. Richard also had a very prosperous career in sales. The majority of his career was spent at Coke and Lordon Distributing. However, he held other successful sales positions throughout his life. In 1966, Richard married the love of his life Adele (Frisbie) Green. Together they had three daughters: Cyndie (Alan) Poluyanskis, Connie (Tom) Papini, Candie (Jerry) Stromquist. Over the years he was blessed with five grandchildren Jessica, Adelle, Payton, Chase, and Ethan. After surviving his wife of 8 years, Adele. Richard welcomed a stepdaughter Nicole (Bobby) Massoth-Binicewicz, from a later marriage. Richard fulfilled his love of cooking in the ladder part of his life, by spending time in the kitchen at Rocky’s and Town Hall. Where he made many memories and friends. In his final years of life Richard spent his time at home with his significant other Kathy Zanzinger, and their fur baby,
Libby. As years passed, Kathy’s family became an extension of Richard’s. Making Kathy’s
children Doug, Danielle and Diana like his own. Richard was predeceased by his parents Milton
and Violet (Kitzmiller) Green. His brother Robert A. Green and wife Adele (Frisbie) Green.
Grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of
weakness, nor a lack of faith…it is the price of love.
