Raymond Wright

Raymond L. Wright, 83, of Monroe Center, passed away on February 6, 2022. Born February 9, 1938, in Wayne City, IL; son of Frank L. Wright and Opal Fay Mayhan.  Ray married Genevieve Lynch on September 8, 1962, who passed away on September 9, 2009. Ray worked as a truck driver for most of his career and was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. Raymond enjoyed chopping wood and going to Menards. An avid animal lover, he enjoyed rehabbing baby raccoons and raising peacocks. He was a jokester who always enjoyed a good prank, but most of all he enjoyed being a grandpa and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children Colleen (Sanjeev) Kakkar and Susan (Mark) Hickey; grandchildren Briana Hickey, Lindsey (Billy Brichetto) Hickey, Caroline Hickey, Rayna Kakkar, and Jaden Kakkar; siblings Inis, Janice, Connie, and Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; wife Genevieve; and siblings David and Waymond “Speed”. The family is planning a private Celebration of Life.
