Raymond E Rhodes Jr.

Raymond Edward Rhodes, Jr., 78, passed away on March 10, 2026, due to a sudden illness. He was born on June 9, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Raymond Sr. and Adeline (Tews) Rhodes.

Raymond graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1966. He dedicated much of his life to his work as the owner of an excavating business, a career he maintained for over 50 years. His strong work ethic and commitment were evident to all who knew him.

Outside of work, Raymond enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved traveling, spending time feeding the fish in his pond, and relaxing in his shop with friends. He also had a passion for cars and riding motorcycles.

Raymond will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of friendship, and the quiet moments he cherished doing the things he loved most.

Raymond is survived by his son Nicholas (Michelle) Rhodes; granddaughter, Kendall Rhodes; brothers, Richard (Dianna) Rhodes, Ronald (Kris) Rhodes; sisters, Kim (Jarvis) Allen, Sandra Brown; sister-in-law Hope Rhodes; numerous nieces and nephews; long time friends Loralee, Tiffany and Jerry Coggins; family would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. He is predeceased by both parents; and brother Bob Rhodes.
