Ray L. Parker, 78, of Rockford, passed away on January 24, 2024, in Swedish American Hospital. Born February 4, 1945, in Hartford, WI. Ray served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1963. He married Cheryl A. Johnson on January 17, 1969. He was the owner and operator of Parker Machine Repair. Ray was proud of his military service and was a member of the Walter Reed American Legion, Post 60 and the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 29. He and Cheryl were member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Ray loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. For many years he and Cheryl would spend the summer in Lake Tahoe. He loved his family and adored his wife, Cheryl, of 55 years. Ray also enjoyed spending time with his best friend and furry companion Drake.
Survivors include his loving wife Cheryl, children Jim (Tracey) Parker and Brian (Lynn Downer) Parker; grandchildren Mara, Ada, and Olivia Parker, and Rylan Downer-Parker; siblings Bill Parker, Peg Mader, Ruthie Luther, and Judy Adams; several nieces and nephew; and his dog Drake.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother Jim Parker.
