Randy Allen Blankenship, Sr., 70, of Belvidere, passed away on April 4, 2024, in Northwoods Care Center. He was born on July 16, 1953, in Chicago, IL, the son of Curtis and Martha Blankenship. Randy worked as a truck driver for Columbus Foods in Des Plaines, IL. He was an avid Bears fan and enjoyed traveling. He was a family man and loved spending time with his granddaughter and bonus grandchildren. He enjoyed country music. He always considered himself a hillbilly and thought he should have been born in the south. Randy married Jeanne many years ago and even though they parted ways, they always found their way back to each other.
Survivors include his former wife and best friend Jeanne Wilson; children Randy (Melissa) Blankenship, Jr. and Kelsey Blankenship; bonus children Amanda and Matthew Freeman, and Crystal Halverson; granddaughter Kailey Fitzgerald; bonus grandchildren Ethan, Jayden, Audrey, and Marlena; brothers Terry (Marcela) Blankenship and Doyle Blankenship; sister Robin Whaley; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his parents Curtis and Martha.
