R. Emerson

R. Bruce Emerson, 92, of Loves Park, passed away in his home on January 28, 2022. Born February 26, 1929, in Rockford, the son of David and Katherine (Loucks) Emerson. Bruce serviced in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a helicopter mechanic and served for the 8063 M.A.S.H. unit. He married the love of his life, Donna Stauffaucher, on January 9, 1954. They just celebrated their 68 th wedding anniversary. Bruce retired from working as an inspector at both National Lock and Camcar. He volunteered at Northern IL Radio Services for 3 years reading to the blind. He loved to be outside, especially fishing and spending time at his lake house in Montello, WI with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife Donna; sons Pastor Scott (Kathleen) of Chippewa Falls, WI, Steven (Sandra) of Cama, WA, and Greg Emerson of Loves Park; grandchildren Jason (Kelley) of Eau Claire, WI, Marisha (Kevin) Staub, of Machesney Park, Sarah Emerson of Spokane, WA, and Mitchell Emerson of Pullman, WA; great-granddaughters Aubrey and Jaiden Staub, and Siena Emerson; brother David Emerson of Stillwater, MN; brothers-in-law Thomas (Kathryn) Stauffaucher of Melbourne, FL and Michael (Anne) Stauffaucher of Rockford; several nieces and nephews including Cheryl, Nancy, Jen, and Leah that were a great help to Donna. Bruce is predeceased by his parents; his in-laws Winnie and Joe Stauffaucher; twin daughters; and sisters Margaret Wood, Janet Gent, and Carolyn Hafterson.
