Prentice Story

Prentice Mae Story, 80, of Rockford, passed away at Alden Debes on June 8, 2024. She was born on January 9, 1944, in Risco, Missouri, the daughter of James and Pauline (Stephens) Hon. She retired from Testor Corporation. She loved to see cardinals in her yard and was an avid reader. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and celebration with family during the Holidays.

Survivors include her children Darren (Lisa) Story, Wayne Story, Craig (Diane) Story, and Karen Johnson; grandchildren Miracle, Vanessa, Sarah, Curtis, Cassandra, Cody, Carrie, Kyle, and Ethan; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Glenda Gilbert, Linda (Dan) Walker, and Barbara (Mike) Bussie; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and sister Pauletta Bick.

A memorial luncheon and Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Bible Baptist Church of Harrison, 11878 Genessee St., Rockton, IL 61072. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
