Phyllis Lynn (Self) Mineff, 66, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 16, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. She was born November 27, 1955, to the late Betty (Knight) Kendall and Loran Ray Self. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Laura Kelly, grandmother Ruth Densmore, brothers Gary Knight and Matthew Self, sister Sharon Lynn, and her grandson Noah Hunter. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Greg Mineff of Rockford, IL, daughters Sherry Yoak, Angela (Debbie Carfora) Owens, and Kristin Owens, grandchildren Katelynn Yoak, Shayna Owens, Keygan, Kylynn, and Hailey Anderson, great grandchildren DJ and Tinsley Fransen, sisters Susan (Dennis) Houchin, Pam Frederick, and brother Chuck (Crystal) Kendall of Grantsville, WV, sister Sheila (Gary) Hunt and brother Timothy Self of Winchester, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Phyllis grew up in Grantsville, WV and moved to Rockford, IL in 1974. She devoted her life to raising her daughters, and being a wonderful Nana to all of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, long country rides, laughing with her friends, good music, drinking coffee on her porch, and her dog Tink. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family who love her bushels and bushels to the moon and back. Per Phyllis’s request, there was no public memorial service.
