Peter’s brothers and sisters honor the life of their beloved youngest brother Peter Lyn Vazquez, lovingly known as Petey. Petey unexpectedly passed away at the age of 60 in Rockford, Illinois on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Born to Syble Ernestine Vazquez (McGuire) and Gregorio Vazquez Bacconnier in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on April 19, 1966.
Petey loved the Chicago Bears and the great outdoors - camping, fishing, and tubing down the river with friends and family. But his greatest love was his family. He constantly told them he loved them. He also loved his cats and enjoyed sharing pictures of his cats with his family.
Petey is adored and missed by his siblings Greg (Gloria), Mike (Debbie), Deborah (Angelo), Glinda (Joe), and George (Rosa). He is also beloved by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Petey was predeceased by his parents, Ernestine and Gregorio, his brothers Gary F. Lettman, Victor Lucas, and his beloved lifetime partner Shelly Rainwater.
