Peggy Whitten

Peggy Lee Whitten, 70, of Rockford, passed away at Swedish American Hospital on October 23, 2022. She was born January 25, 1952, in Bancroft, MI; the daughter of Virgil and Beatrice (Rathbun) Wright. Peggy was a very kind and forgiving person. She enjoyed a good conversation with anyone and was very generous with her time. She never drove, so she either walked or rode the bus everywhere. This gave her the opportunity to make many friends along the way. Peggy enjoyed watching WWF/WWE wrestling when her son Jason was a child and continued to watch it so they could talk about the wrestlers. She was an avid Bear’s fan because of Walter Payton. She enjoyed watching NASCAR as well, especially when Jeff Gordon was driving. She always had fun watching the Price is Right, and never missed Wheel of Fortune. Peggy was overjoyed when she became a grandma each and every time!
Peggy is survived by her sons Jason (Emily) Hallberg, and Dick (Lisa) Whitten; grandsons Aleister, Drake, Anthony, Noah, and Kaleb; siblings Steve, Debbie, Michael, Rachel, and Annette; and several nieces and nephews.
