Peggy Nelson

"He took my hand and led me Home" ? Peggy Jean Nelson, 80, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Peggy was born June 9, 1942, in Rockford to Mabel (Hermann) and Nelson Burdick.  Peggy was a bookkeeper at several local businesses including Bellwood Animal Hospital, Fincham Industrial Supplies, Hillen Group, and Textron.  She loved her music, enjoyed painting, the comfort of gardening, and the beauty of nature. Peggy had a very kind and gentle heart, and loved a good laugh.  She is survived by her sisters, Diana (Dwayne) Long, Charlotte (Herb) Schulz, and Ardith (Marshall) Winters; brother, Dan (Dena) Bawinkel; many loving nieces and nephews; a host of great caretakers. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; nieces, Danielle and Kathleen. In lieu of flowers, please give love and hope to those in need, as Peg would be delighted.
