Peggy Magnuson

Peggy S. Magnuson, 66, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2022. She was born on March 11, 1956, in Freeport, IL; daughter of Charles and Mary (Burnett) Thompson, Sr. She married Johnny L. Magnuson, Sr. on September 18, 1981, who unfortunately passed away a few weeks ago on April 5, 2022.  Peggy worked for Rockford Memorial Hospital in patient accounts for many years. She enjoyed reading, crosswords puzzles, and word searches; anything to do with brain exercise. She was also a collector of knick-knacks and loved to go hunting at thrift shops. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Dezi. She is survived by her children Russell (Danielle Buss) Magnuson and Stacy (Nanette Salgado) Magnuson; daughter-in-law Christa Magnuson; grandchildren Greg, Aaron, and Deziree Magnuson; father Charles Thompson, Sr.; brothers Charles Thompson, Jr. and Roy Thompson; aunt and uncle Betty and Gerry Burnett. Peggy is predeceased by her mother, Mary; her husband of 40 years, Johnny L. Magnuson, Sr.; stepson Johnny L. Magnuson, Jr.; and her sister Linda Pozzi. There will be a Celebration of Life for both Peggy and John on Saturday, June 18, 2022, starting at 11 am at the Coon & Fox Hunters club of Northern IL, 12314 Harrison Rd, Shirland, IL 61079.
