In loving memory of Pauletta Yvonne Konczak (Miller, born Pauletta Mae Howard-Horn), who peacefully passed away on October 24th, 2023, at 11:02 am, in her home in Roscoe, IL, surrounded by her beloved family. Pauletta was born on September 20th, 1946, in Gideon, MO, to her birth parents, Louis J. Howard and Mary M. Anderson (Horn). Pauletta is survived by her four children: Lawrence Myers Jr. of the Philippines, Tamara McGrath (Myers) of Mequon, WI, Yvonne Cleek (Konczak) of Merriam Woods Village, MO, and Victoria Walczak (Konczak) of Roscoe, IL. Her legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her adopted parents, Frank and Agnes (Duff) Miller, who provided her with a loving and nurturing upbringing. Pauletta proudly graduated from Dundee Community High School as part of the class of 1964. Pauletta had a deep appreciation for literature, finding solace in the pages of her books and later her Kindle. Her love for nature was evident as she would sit in her oversized director's chair, naming the wildlife while enjoying the great outdoors. She held a special affection and fascination for fairies and dragonflies, which she saw as symbols of enchantment and transformation. Her passion for exploring extended beyond books; she had a memorable period of traveling, which broadened her horizons and enriched her life. Her curiosity extended to the cosmos, and she had a deep interest in the wonders of space. Pauletta also delved into the intricate workings of the human mind, reflecting her profound intellectual curiosity. Pauletta's intelligence and extensive vocabulary were awe-inspiring. She believed in the power of words, valuing the significance of their literal meanings and definitions. To her, words were not just tools of communication but keys to unlocking deeper understanding and connection. She found joy in watching movies and television, with a recent passion for K-Drama series. Her passion for reading extended to her favorite authors, including Kay Hooper, Nora Roberts, Christine Feehan, J.D. Robb, and Zane Grey. She encouraged the love of reading in her family. Pauletta had an impeccable taste for quality and an undeniable passion for shopping. Her keen eye for the finest things in life was a testament to her appreciation of excellence in every aspect, reflecting her unique personality and love for the finer details. Cooking was one of Pauletta's great pleasures, and she eagerly embraced new culinary techniques and technologies to create the finest meals. She passed on her knowledge and enthusiasm to some of her children and grandchildren. Music held a special place in Pauletta's heart, and she adored artists like Neil Diamond, ABBA, Enya, and folk, later enjoying indie music. Pauletta had Biological, Half, and Adopted Siblings predeceased and surviving in AR, FL, IL, MO, PA, and WI.
