Paula Schoeneweiss

Paula Lynn Schoeneweiss, 73, of Rockford, passed away on June 13, 2023, in Swedish American Hospital. She was born on January 20, 1950, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Vivian (Lincoln) Schoeneweiss. Paula graduated from Rockford College with her master’s in teaching and taught in the Rockford Public Schools for many years. She enjoyed reading romance and mystery novels, crossword puzzles, and word searches. Paula loved to sit around the table with family and play cards. She was also an avid Chicago Bear’s fan and enjoyed going out to watch the games and have lunch with her friends. Paula is survived by her two sons Floyd (Stella) Fluaitt, IV, and Adam (Angelina) Fluaitt; grandchildren Cameron Fluaitt, Donavin (Cassie) Fluaitt, Nathaniel Fluaitt, Davan Rossi-McLain, Danielle Champion, and Ian Fluaitt; great grandchildren Trinity, DJ, Jaxon, Salem, and one on the way; siblings David (Sylvia) Schoeneweiss and Gale (Roxanne) Schoeneweiss; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Sherry (Dennis) Whitehead, and special friend Dale Geordt. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 pm to 6 pm, Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Lockwood Park, Big Country Shelter, 5201 Safford Rd., Rockford, IL 61101.
