Paula Lynn Schmoldt

December 11, 1963 — December 15, 2025

Paula Lynn Schmoldt, 62, of Belvidere, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 15, 2025. Paula was born on December 11, 1963, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paul and Delsie (Darnell) Paulson. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1982.

Paula dedicated her professional life to education and community service. She served in an administration role in the GED/ESL department at Rock Valley College. She also assisted with grant funding and donations for the Girl Scouts. Most recently she worked as an office manager for the University of Illinois Chicago in Rockford.

She was an active volunteer at the Grange Hall at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Belvidere, generously giving her time to support community events. Paula practiced Reiki for many years and enjoyed watching shows about hauntings and the paranormal. She had a lifelong love for elephants, collecting and cherishing anything related to them. Above all else, Paula’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, who were always her top priority and the center of her world.

Survivors include her daughter Brianna (Nathan) Drummer; grandchildren Mikayla and Taylor Uden, and Rylan Drummer; father Paul Paulson; brother Darren Paulson; nieces Lynn and Sarah Paulson; nephew James Paulson; and great nieces and nephews.
