Paul Linley

Paul Phillip Linley, 72, of Rockford, IL passed away on April 7, 2024, in Forest City Nursing Center after dealing with Parkinson's Disease for many years. Paul was born in Rockford, IL on August 10, 1951, to parents Paul and Patricia (Holmes) Linley. He was the oldest of their 11 children. He started his first paper route at the age of 12, moving on to be a grocery store bagger at 15. After graduating from Guilford High and trying various jobs, he found his passion as a long-haul truck driver. He loved seeing the country from his semi, being accompanied by his favorite sidekick, his son Austin, during school breaks. He eventually owned Linley Transportation and drove until Parkinson's Disease brought on early retirement.
Paul was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved talking to people about his God Jehovah and the hope from the Bible for a future on a paradise earth where there will be no more sickness or death, no injustice or inequality. He had a very loving heart with a special love for his sons Josh and Austin and his precious new granddaughter, Luna.
Paul is survived by his sons Joshua (Rose) Linley and Austin (Tia) Linley, granddaughter Luna Linley, Mother Patricia Linley, brothers John (Patti) Linley, David (Mona) Linley, Mark (Lori) Linley, Danny (Meghan) Linley, Michael (Sundown) Linley, sisters Cora (Richard) Stamler, Darla (Dan) Jacobson, Regina (Scott) Wells, Lori Ann Linley, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends Marcia Linley and Sue and Jeff Cellitti . He is predeceased by his wife, Deana Laman Linley, infant daughter Stacy Linley, infant son Andrew Linley, and father Paul Linley.
