Patricia Jo Doyle-Erickson

Patricia Jo Doyle-Erickson, 60, of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Roscoe, following a long and courageous health journey. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Patricia was born on October 7, 1965, in Rockford, Illinois, to Charles and Christine Doyle. She graduated from Boylan Catholic High School and later attended Rock Valley College. Patricia dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She served as an Operating Room nurse at Rockford Memorial Hospital for over 20 years, where she was known for her compassion, strength, and ability to bring comfort to patients and families during some of their most difficult moments.

Patty Jo was truly one of a kind. Her smile could light up even the darkest room, and her laughter was always contagious. Family and close friends were the center of her world. She loved family vacations to Florida, going on cruises, spending summers at local beaches, and finding fun activities for the kids during the colder months. As she grew older, she made sure to create those same memories with her grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly.

She also had a deep love for music and enjoyed going to concerts and nights out filled with laughter. Some of her happiest moments were spent going out with her friends and making memories with her sister and cousin Jody.

Patty had a passion for cooking and baking. Missing Sunday dinners was never an option, and every Thanksgiving, everyone knew exactly who would be bringing the apple pie.

Patricia was a devoted and loving mother, nana, sister, and daughter. Her legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Brittney Erickson (Justin) and Christine Erickson; her siblings, Stacey Seitz (David) and Charles Doyle (Cheryl); her cherished grandchildren, Sofia Christine, Charles Cameron, Cali Marie, Noah Lloyd, and Avery David; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins (Jody Newman) and niece Mariah Seitz, and other nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Doyle and Christine Doyle, and her former husband, Johnny Erickson.

Patricia’s wishes were to be cremated and, one day, become one with the earth by having her ashes scattered in the ocean.

A celebration of life will be held on April 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Roscoe VFW, 11385 2nd St., Roscoe, Illinois. There will be food, cake, and a cash bar. Flowers and donations may be brought to or delivered to the service.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mercy Health Hospice for their compassionate care during her time with them, especially her dedicated nurse, Candy, and a special thank you to Kelly, her caregiver.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
