Pamela Lynn Sneed

Pamela Lynn (Distin) Sneed, 79, of Loves Park, passed away on October 24, 2026. She was born on June 7, 1947, in Rockford; the daughter of Arlene Distin.

Pam graduated from East High School in 1965. She married Mack Sneed in November of 1965. He passed away April 15, 2023. She worked as a bookkeeper for Alpine Bank for many years before retirement. Pam and other Alpine Bank retirees would enjoy meeting up at the Stockholm Inn.

Pam was an avid reader, she especially enjoyed reading biographies. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Machesney Park and used to teach Sunday School. Pam loved to cook and bake and would make German recipes to pass on family traditions. She made hooded towels for all the babies born in the family and for friends as well. Pam loved line dancing. She was self-taught from watching American Bandstand and enjoyed going to Betty’s when they were open in Loves Park.

Survivors include her sons Michael (Jody) Sneed and Russell (Carrie) Sneed; grandchildren Derek Sneed, Olivia (Spencer) Higgs, Catherine Sneed, and Evan Sneed; brother Greg (Cindy) Rogers; brother-in-law Kim Wakenight; and nieces and nephews; and friend Barb Joeston. She is predeceased by her mom and dad Arlene and James Rogers; husband Mack Sneed; siblings Sharon Wakenight, Paul Rogers, and Linda Harmon; and granddaughter Genevieve Sneed.
