Nova J. James, 80, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born on December 10, 2025, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Louise (Carmichael) Keiser. She graduated from West High School in Rockford. She worked as a General Manager for Hilton Hotels in both California and Texas. Nova was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music. She loved horses and would teach children to ride in her younger years. Her cats were her children, Mama and Pookie. She was a feisty lady and had a heart of gold. She was dearly loved and will be missed.

A special thank you to the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home, especially on Dove wing, for their compassionate care for Nova this past year. It did not go unnoticed.

Survivors include her special friends Sharon Anderson, Lillie King, and Tim Smiley. She is predeceased by her parents and her son Wayne James.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm, Monday, November 17, 2025, at River Bluff Nursing Home, 4401 N. Main St. Rockford, IL 61103. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
