Nicole Benavides

Nicole Lyn Benavides, A beautiful life that came to an end on July 17, 2022. Nicole was born on June 10, 1973, and right then she greatly impacted the lives of those around her. Since she was a child, she went out of her way to show immense compassion for others. Always the wisest, most adventurous, and courageous, person in the room. She always had a way with words, a way of seeing the bigger picture, and a contagious laugh that everyone loved. The power to put everyone around her at ease and focus on what really mattered. The simple things. What mattered to her was embracing all the small moments with the ones she loved. Including her dog Daisy and her feathered friends Koki and Icarus. She collected all our lives through photos and her poetry and only she knew how much it meant at the time. Now we all look back and embrace every moment together and hope it will not be our last. A lover of music, a free spirit at heart, and someone to admire. She will continue being the brightest spirit in the room and forever live within us. Her son was the love of her life, and we all know she will be soaring up above and continue to guide him. Nicole always cared for others, spreading her kindness, and this is how we shall honor her.  She is survived by her son Luis Gumucio, her mother Linda Gilardi, her father Leslie Benavides, her brother Dominic Benavides (Kristy), her sister Tisha Kaspari (Bill), brother Brett Benavides, many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will always love, cherish and miss her. A memorial Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL on August 11 th.
9 am. Visitation, Mass to follow 10 a.m.-11 a.m. and if you wish to join her celebration of life it will be held at American Legion at 12:00 pm in Huntley, IL.  Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Rd., Loves Park. www.statelinecremations.com
