Michael Moore

Michael Moore, 71, of Rockford, IL, departed this earthly life Friday, July 10, 2026. He was born on August 3, 1954, the son of Nick and Agnes Moore. He married Rosie Fricks on April 27, 1973, in Rockford. Out of that Union, 2 daughters were born. Michael enjoyed cars and motorcycles, music (mostly Jazz), bar-b-cueing, family and friends, traveling and joking. He earned many, many certificates from Rock Valley College during his work history.

Michael leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife of 53 years, Rosie, 1 daughter Niquaya Moore of Rockford; 5 grandchildren Kiara Carthen, Raheem Johnson, Isiah, Elijah, and Nasir Moore of Rockford; 1 brother William “Butch” Moore of Wisconsin; sisters Geraldine Neal of Rockford, Lynda Dowe of Ohio, Deborah Pearson of Rockford, and Annette (Jamie) Pendleton of Rockford; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; also sisters and brothers-in-law that were just like sisters and brothers to Michael. He was pre-deceased by his parents; his daughter Katrina Moore; granddaughter Zarhana McGowan; 2 nieces Patrice Jones and Carol Neal; mother-in-law Versie Simmons; and a host of other relatives and friends.

First giving honor to God, we the family of Michael Moore would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mercy Health and Swedish American Hospital, first responders, Rock River Rehabilitation and Nursing, CNA’s, Unity Hospice, and Stateline Cremations for everything you have done.

The family would also like to thank everyone for their condolences, love gifts, kind words, memories, and uplifting laughter during those needed time of grievance. God Bless you ALL!
