Michael A. Harris

Michael Allan Harris, 64, of Loves Park, passed away on October 18, 2026, in his home. He was born on August 28, 1962, in Rockford; the son of Alan and Patricia (Peterson) Harris.

Mike worked as a cook for Doc’s Diner and Tad’s on the Rock. He enjoyed playing softball and was on bowling leagues over the years. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed cooking and loved his family.

Survivors include his brother Todd Harris; son Christopher Harris; granddaughter Vada Harris; sons Jonathan (Brittany) Weatherbee and Gabriel Weatherbee; brother-in-law BJ Scherer; nieces Michelle Scherer and Stephanie (Joe) Cullotta and their children Joe, Joey, Mikey, Charlie, and Tommy Cullotta; and cousins Shelly Leverso and Jim Gucciardo. He is predeceased by his parents Alan and Patricia (Peterson) Harris; and sister Kris Scherer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Tad’s on the Rock, 10 E. Riverside Boulevard, Loves Park, IL 61111.
