Michael Fraser

December 31, 1969 — June 24, 2022

Michael Jennings Fraser Jr., “Mike,” age 57, of Loves Park, IL, went to his heavenly home on June 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on November 2, 1964, in Ames, Iowa, the oldest son of Michael J. Fraser Sr. and Sharon A. (Edwards) Fraser. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1982. He married Hong Tran in 1999 in Saigon, Vietnam. Mike was an exceptional CNC Operator, often given the most challenging projects. In his younger years, he was an astounding fast-pitch softball pitcher and continued to play into adulthood with his brothers. Mike enjoyed life. He had a smile that illuminated the room. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening (especially his hot peppers!), and camping with his mom. He most recently enjoyed frisbee golf with his son, Billy. When Mike wasn’t outdoors, he enjoyed baking and took pride in bringing his desserts to family events. Mike took his family on many vacations and always included his mom. To his Chicago Bears’ loving family's dismay, he was an avid Green Bay Packer fan! He enjoyed lazy Sunday afternoons watching football with his dad, brothers, sisters, and all his nieces & nephews. Mike was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends, whether building a deck, laying floors, remodeling a basement, or putting up yet another swimming pool. His family was his everything. Mike will be missed by his wife, Hong (Helen) Fraser, and children; Margaret, 23, and William (Billy), 19, parents, brothers, and sisters; Deb (Al) Sullivan, Barb Fraser, Steve Fraser, Tom (Jessica) Fraser, Jon (Tracy) Fraser, Tim (Amy) Fraser, and Suzy (Eric) Nelson. Along with many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. Mother-in-law, An Tran, and in-laws of Saigon, Vietnam. His mother is at peace knowing he is now enjoying his forever garden in Heaven. The Bible says: Song of Solomon 6:2,3
“ My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. 3.
I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies. ” The celebration of life service will be held at Riversid e Community Church 6816. N. 2nd Street, Loves Park, IL 61111 on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
