Melissa Onorato

June 12, 1970 — May 5, 2025

Melissa "Missy" Ann Oronato, 53, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly in her home on May 5, 2025. She was born June 12, 1970, in Chicago, IL; the daughter of Don Onorato and Mary (Gooch) Onorato. Melissa enjoyed shopping and collecting things, especially Coca Cola and M&M items. She was a very vibrant and happy person. Her family considered her their social butterfly.

Melissa is survived by her father Don (Durann) Onorato; stepsisters Lauren (Kyle) Kottke and Jamie (Chris) Becklin; cousin Cheryl Ann Decker; her dogs Annie, Bailey, and Holly; and several other close relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her mother Mary Clare Onorato; and brother Donald Onorato.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Melissa's neighbors for their care and compassion during such a difficult time.
