Matthew Peterson

Matthew Scott Peterson, 39, of Rockford, passed away on May 22, 2025, at UW Health Swedish American Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1985, in Rockford; the son of Scott and Brenda (Konetski) Peterson. Matthew attended Christian Life through his junior year and proceeded to graduate from Roosevelt High School in 2003. He attended Community Bible Church and worked as a drywaller and painter. Matthew was an avid fisherman and created his own fishing lures.

Survivors include his parents Scott (Jennifer) Peterson and Brenda Peterson; his children Aaden Jones and Linnea Peterson; brothers Jeffrey and Brett Peterson. He is predeceased by his grandparents Richard "Dick" and Irene Peterson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Community Bible Church, 5950 35 ^th St. Rockford, IL 61109, with Rev. Tim Ramsden officiating. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
