Maryann Greiner

Maryann Greiner, 73, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family in the early hours of Friday, April 22, 2022. Maryann was born on January 25, 1949, to Patricia and Roger Swisher Sr. Maryann worked as a janitor at Fairview School and truly loved her job. She went on to receive her GED at 55 years old and was very proud of herself. She enjoyed all aspects of nature. From camping at Leham Camping Grounds in Marengo, Fern Cliff, Lake Louise, she was there. She enjoyed fishing and had a special interest in horses. Aside from nature, she loved to play cards and bingo. She also loved spending time with her dogs, Charlie and Casper.  She was a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She strived to make sure the ones she loved were cared for and never went without.  Maryann leaves behind her husband, Dennis Greiner; children, Denise, Tina, Margie, Becky, Dennis and Shane; many grand and great-grandchildren; siblings, Debbie, Kathy and Roger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Roger; siblings, Diane, Buddy and George.  A celebration of life for Maryann will be held in August 2022, with more specific details to be announced in the coming weeks.
