Mary Olson

Mary Barstow Olson, 84, of Dekalb passed away peacefully on the evening of September 8, 2021. She was the daughter of Theodore S. Barstow and Jane Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Olson (1935-2012), and is the mother of two sons, Peter Barstow Olson (b. 1967) and Laurence William Olson (b. 1970).  Everyone who ever had the good fortune to cross paths with Mary knew a kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and witty person. As one dear friend recalled, she possessed a “quiet, radical grace”. She takes many riches of love and wisdom with her.   A virtual gathering of remembrance will be held over Zoom on Sunday, October 17 at 3pm CDT.
