Mary Ann Massoth, a lifelong resident of the Rockford region, died December 30
th
of pancreatic cancer. She was 65. She attended Harlem High School and worked for the United States Post Office until retirement.
She became part of the Boyd family early in life, helping to raise children for two generations. She will be most remembered for her ability to make anyone feel at ease and loved. She was always willing to offer a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. When it was time to celebrate, she brought the cheer to the party. She always had a smile for friends and family, along with a willingness to help those who needed it. She imparted both wisdom and warmth.
Born to Normand and Anna Massoth, she served the roles of mother, daughter, sister and aunt within the Boyd family. She is survived by members of the Massoth and Boyd families including Richard, Neal, Max, Will (Rachel), Paul, Belle (Paecho), Zach, Annaliese, Jack, Mila and PJ.
Mary Ann passed away while grieving the recent loss of Syril Boyd, her cherished adoptive mother. Her parents, Normand and Anna, also proceed her in death.
A celebration of life will be held later this year. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
