Mary Cole

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION:   Mary Lou Cole, 86, of Rockford, passed away on June 9, 2022, in Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home. She was born on December 16, 1935, in Galesburg, IL; the daughter of Milo and Ida (Roby) Simpson. She married William J. Cole on December 3, 1960, at the Brooke Methodist Church in Rockford. Mary worked at Sunstrand before she retired. She grew up on a farm and enjoyed gardening. She loved animals. She was a baker and enjoyed sewing. She made her own clothes and made outfits for her children. Mary and her family enjoyed traveling and going camping. Mary is survived by her children Flo Jacobson, Harold (Jenny Smith) Cole, and Millie (Bruce) Harker; grandchildren David (Andie) Milligan, Dan (Brooke) Milligan, Erica Stoll, Jacob Cole, Zachery Cole, and Tanner Harker; great-grandchildren Aryana, Aaliyah, Douglas, Zoie, Tyler, Madden, and Macson. She is predeceased by her parents, husband William, and her 9 siblings. A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at St. Mary’s building at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds at 500 W. 1st St., Pecatonica, IL 61063, enter at gate 3.
