Martha Faye Henson

Martha “Marty” Faye Henson, 69, of Rockford, passed away after a long illness, on August 8, 2026, in her home with family by her side. She was born on November 5, 1956, in Rockford, the daughter of William and Lorraine (Watts/Henson) Smith.

Marty had lengthy employments at Amerock, Cintas, and Skinner Amusements, etc, before retiring. She is lovingly known as the “Heart of the family” as they were all her greatest priority. She had an exceptional capacity of love and compassion for them and demonstrated it most by opening her home to her loved ones and their pets.

Survivors include her brother Dave (Becky) Henson, and Shirley Henson Cook; numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins; and her three beloved dogs Stormy, Titan, and Rex. She is predeceased by her longtime partner Louis Dishman; loving parents William and Lorraine Henson; and her siblings Virginia Martin, Mary Street, Thomas Henson, and Debbie Smith.

Ms. Henson will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, as she was a true angel on earth.
