Mark Mcentee

Mark Stephen McEntee, 69, of Weeki Wachee, FL, passed away on June 17th from terminal cancer. Mark was born on May 3rd, 1954, to Francis and Shirley McEntee in Rockford, IL. After Mark graduated from Guilford High School in 1972, he started his career as an Electrician and later transitioned into a role as an Estimator for ATC where he retired from.   Mark married Lori Addis Groene on June 17th, 2009, in Clearwater, FL. Mark and Lori dated after High School and reconnected to blend their families on Clearwater Beach. Mark had two loving daughters Alecia and Tianna as well as gained Tiffany, David, and one of his favorite dogs, Roxy. Mark and Lori retired from work as well as the cold to their dream home on a golf course at in Weeki Wachee, FL. Mark had lifelong passions for music, golf, and fishing. He was a talented musician with a love for the guitar. Mark enjoyed being a member of a band and would even take the lead vocal from time to time. Mark was an avid golfer. With most golfers there is a love hate for the game, nevertheless he truly enjoyed this sport throughout his life especially in retirement in the Glen Lake golf leagues that he even took 1st in from time to time. Mark also fully enjoyed fishing, especially in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Ultimately, Mark liked to do things “his” way and he managed to do that until end. He left us all way too soon. However, in his last few days he was surrounded by his family and had so much unconditional love that he was able to find peace.  “Why is a sunset more colorful than sunrise? It's an irony of life saying, sometimes, good things happen in goodbyes'.”  Mark’s final days were courageous and though, never easy, truly a blessing to be able to have the time to say goodbye. Mark leaves behind his wife Lori Addis McEntee, children Alecia (Chris) George, Tianna (Josh) Vos, Tiffany Groene and David Groene; grandchildren Kadin Gray, Arianna Lundberg, Mila Pozulp and Michael George. Brothers Ray (Lil) Novak, Stuart (Sheri) Johnson, Patrick (Ellen) McEntee. Several nieces and nephews and many good friends in Rockford, Illinois and Glen Lakes Florida.  A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8 at Westlake Village Community Center, 3677 Westlake Village Dr., Winnebago, IL. 6-7 and 8-9:30 pm Visitation, 7-8 Service.
