Marilyn Collins

Rockford, Illinois resident, 83, Marilyn passed away on Monday, August, 9, 2021 in her home. Marilyn was always surrounded by her loved ones and that day was no different. On October 1, 1937 Marilyn  was born to Rodger and Florence Hazel Wilson. On April 16,1954 Marilyn married William Collins in West Plains, Missouri. They had 4 children. Marilyn is survived by all four of her children; daughter Marilyn Flores, daughter Bonnie & Robert Johnson, son William Collins Jr and son Robert & Carla Collins. Her siblings; brothers Lavern “Pete” & Marce Wilson and Leslie & Chris Wilson, sisters Juanita & Peter Plew, sister Carol Ann & Ronald DuFoe, Hazel & Jimmy Akers. Marilyn had several nieces and nephews; Karen. Marilyn had several grandkids; Jennifer & Aron Freeman, Ahide “Heidi” & Sam Rattanasavanh, Jonathan Collins, Ashley & Kyle Dusing, Robert Collins Jr., , Armando " Juan" & Marianna Espinoza. Marilyn had several great grand kids; Sabrina Freeman, Samantha Freeman, Nouk & Melissa Rattanasavanh, Tommy Rattanasavanh, Anthony Rattanasavanh, Malia Mandujano - Ethridge and Theodore “Teddy” Dusing, Jaymein Espinoza, Bryan Espinoza, Ashlyn Espinoza and Arianna Espinoza. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband William Collins, both of her parents, brother Leslie Wilson, and grandson Samuel Mandujano. Marilyn was a housewife and an antique fanatic all her life. She loved to go to garage sales, estate sales and auctions. She loved rummaging through all the boxes even when they were covered with dust. She was sure to let you know that you just never knew what could be found in a box that looked like junk to most people. I think it is safe to say that going to auctions, estate sales and garage sales was one of Marilyn’s happy places. Rest assured though nothing could bring a bigger smile to Marilyn’s face than when she had a house full of family, including the grand furbabies. There will be graveside services for immediate family on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2pm in Willwood Burial Park 7000 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61102. The family will be having a celebration of life on October 3,2021 at The Filling Station, 6259 Eleventh Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61109. Time is yet to be determined.
