Margaret Mccabe

Margaret “Elaine” McCabe, 70, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Elaine was born on July 8, 1952, in Rockford to Pearl and Vernon Gentry. She grew up here locally, and attended West High School. Elaine was a dispatcher for Local 150. On April 24, 1992, Elaine married Thomas C. McCabe.  Elaine was a very creative person, from continuously working on crafting to coming up with new recipes. She loved gardening when she had the opportunity. She and Thomas enjoyed going off-roading in Colorado. She enjoyed watching Formula 1 racing, and was an expert about it. Elaine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tom; children, Marty (Allison) Wilson and Melinda (Chris) Bankson; grandchildren, Tom Wilson, Ted Wilson,  A.J. Wilson, Jennifer Bankson, Hannah Miller, Elizabeth Bankson and Chris Bankson; great-grandchildren, Ava, Lyla and Rowan; brother, Tom (Kristi) Gentry; sister, Carol (Todd) Stone. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Vernon. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Road, Loves Park, IL, 61111.
