Lucinda Tucker

December 31, 1969 — November 17, 2022

Lucinda Kay Tucker (Cindy) age 68 of Rockford died Thursday November 17, 2022 in her home. Her loving husband Tuck cared for her just as their wedding vows stated. Forever and Ever. Cindy was born August 12, 1954 to the late Nancy (Baxter) Drye and Dwight Drye in Freeport Il. Cindy graduated from Rockford West High School in 1972 and married Richard W Tucker in December of that year. Cindy was preceded in death by her son Rick Tucker, her Mother Nancy Drye, Grandma Ott, and Mother in Law Beverly Tucker, and Great Grandson Noble. Cindy is survived by her husband Rick (Tuck), and two grandchildren Quest and Nevaeh. She is further survived by her brother Reg Drye and wife Paula. Nephew Taylor Drye. Sister in law Robin Prentice her husband Larry, Koo Koo, as well as numerous extended family and friends who she cared for deeply. Cindy was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Everybody who knew Cin knew what a caring person she was. She was always there for anyone. Early in their marriage during Tuck’s military service Cindy accompanied him to his duty stations. This included a post in Korea where the living conditions were less than ideal and the newlyweds made the best out of roughing it. They wound up back stateside with a dog they rescued and this began many years of devotion to her dogs. Cindy was a knowledgeable and avid Bears fan. Tuck, Cin, and Rick frequented spring training at Platteville, and attended Hall of Fame inductions for their favorite 85 Bears greats. Cindy enjoyed working in her flowerbeds which were beautifully maintained. She liked reading, day trips, vacations, and fishing with Tuck. Tragically soon after retirement cancer changed all of Cindy and Tucks plans. Cindy was employed at Martin Automatic for 43 years. She developed close friendships with many at work who she considered family. Special thanks to the health care providers at Swedish American Heart Hospital 3rd floor PCU, Swedish American Home Health Services, and Northern Illinois Hospice whose compassionate, professional care made the circumstances easier. In lieu of flowers and services Cindy’s wishes are that family and friends spend time celebrating life and being thankful for the many gifts it provides. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
