Lorraine Morris

Lorraine Beatrice Morris passed away surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the age of 81. She was a mother, grandmother, and sister who loved her family very much. Lorraine was born on June 21, 1941, in Rockford, Illinois to Bernard and Irene Schwartz. She married after high school and was blessed with two children, Steve (Patty) Morris and Kathy (Brett) Ruiz. In addition to her children, Lorraine is survived by her brother Robert (Carol) Schwartz, sister-in-law Judy Schwartz and her six grandchildren: Stephanie (Scott) Clark, Brandon Morris, Joline Morris, Jordan (Sarah) Morris, Michael (Sarah) Ruiz, Nicholas Ruiz and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Irene Schwartz and brother Roger Schwartz. Lorraine spent most of her working career as a bookkeeper for Reg-Ellen Machine Tool in Rockford. She was an avid gardener and her yard and flowers were always the envy of the neighborhood. She enjoyed traveling with her family and enjoyed annual trips to the Wisconsin Dells with her whole family as well as a couple of cruises. Her favorite pastime was watching one of the 1000’s of movies that she owned. Her favorite snack was Peeps and she’d buy boxes and boxes of them every Easter. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family the most. The family is comforted knowing that she at peace and in God’s glory. Special thanks to Northern Illinois Hospice and Peak Home Health Care for caring and compassionate service they provided to her in her last days. As per her request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. A small family gathering celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
