Linda Ann Cavanaugh died on Monday night 10/31/2022 at her home surrounded by her loving Husband, Earl (Larry) and her daughter, Laurie. Linda was born on 04/29/1949 in Great Bend, KS. After completing college at Emporia State University, she married Earl Cavanaugh and started their life together in Rockford, IL. She went on to get her master’s degree in teaching and put it to good use teaching for many years at the Belvidere School District. She was extremely proud of her profession and in equipping her students to be able to navigate and handle the world’s challenges. She also successfully ran a grant funded summer program for many years to help foster the value of hard work and accomplishment in her students. She had a tremendous amount of love for each of her students and stayed in contact with many of them years after they graduated from high school. Linda was fond of metal detecting and enjoyed many trips to Central Kansas to metal detect the prairie there. Equal parts historical artifacts and pop tabs were found on these trips. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Earl (Larry) Cavanaugh of Rockford, her daughter Laurie Ruck (Nathaniel) of Waunakee, WI, three brothers Stanley Yeager (Vicki), Denys Yeager (Julie), and Gayln Yeager (Stacey), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyndon and Leta (Maxine) Yeager. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your favorite charity in Linda’s memory.
