Leslie Wicklund

November 18, 1943 — April 9, 2024

Leslie “Les” L. Wicklund, 80, of Rockford, passed away on April 9, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1943, Waukegan, IL; the son of Larry and Alice (Kukar) Wicklund. Les graduated from Bradley University and retired from UTC (Sundstrand) as a master engineer for over 40 years. He resided in both Rockford and Le Perreux Sur Marne, France until his death. Les met Myriam in Paris in 1971 while he was working in Toulouse, France, for Sundstrand. It was love at first sight, but they did not get married until September 27, 2008. Les and Myriam split their time between the United States and France. He spent many hours learning French so he could get to know and converse with Myriam’s family. He enjoyed woodworking and whittling, golfing, and target shooting.

He is survived by his loving wife Myriam and all of Myriam’s family in France since they truly became his family, and his brother Kurt.
