Larry Outcelt

July 16, 1948 — September 21, 2025

Larry D. Outcelt, 77, of Rockford, passed away in his home on September 21, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1948, the son of Graham and Grace (Hill) Outcelt. Larry served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He earned the Army Commendation Medal. He worked as a foreman at Camcar. Larry met Ruth, the love of his life and his best friend, spending over 40 years with her before she passed away in 2019. He took care of the neighborhood cats and took one in, naming her Baby Girl. Larry was a Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cub's fan. He was a kind and generous man and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was the most genuine person you could meet. He was a very hard worker.

Survivors include his "daughter" Toni (Doug) Shumaker; "grandchildren" Kelsea (David) Ricker, Ben (Brianna) Kolkmeyer, and Lindsey (Cam Mays) Kolkmeyer; "great-grandchildren" Evelyn and Adele; and his friend Skip. He is predeceased by his parents Graham and Grace Outcelt; his love and best friend Ruth; and his sister Nancy Outcelt.
