Kevin Coaty

Kevin Robert Coaty, 60, of Rockford, passed away October 11, 2022, in Amberwood Care Centre, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 2, 1962, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI; the son of Robert and Edna (Budd) Coaty. Kevin attended Jefferson High School. He was then self employed as a carpet installer for 35 years, and took great pride in his work, along with everything else he did.  He was an avid Bears and Cubs fan whether they won or lost. He enjoyed watching action movies and cartoons. He loved to listen to music, especially his favorite band, Scorpions, while driving his self-proclaimed, “first baby”, his 1976 Trans Am. His favorite activity was spending time with family and friends, while cracking jokes every chance he got.
Kevin is survived by his sweetheart and soulmate Kristy Watters; his father Robert Coaty; father and mother-in-law Don and Char White; children Tara (Mike) Stoecklin, Krystal (Brandon) Hosters, Ryan Coaty, Brandy Watters, and Russell Watters, Jr.; grandchildren Delilah, Kai, Zanay, Eric, Layla, and Lydia; siblings Renee (Richard) Martin, Michael (Pimwadee) Coaty, Denise (Mike) Clark, Colette Jorgensen, and Tanya Coaty; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Edna Coaty. A Celebration of Life will be 1-4 pm, Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the American Lombardi Society, 209 Olive St., Rockford, IL 61107.
