Kenneth Evald Andersen, 75, of Rockford, went to his heavenly home May 24, 2023. Born June 28, 1947, in Rockford to Evald and Bessie Andersen. Kenneth was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Navy. He graduated from Rock Valley College with an associate’s degree. Kenneth worked for Sundstrand (Collins Aerospace) for 34 years (1972-2006). He received NASA’s prestigious “Silver Snoopy” award in 2005 for his work in the space program. He was married to Susan Vincer for 40 years, she passed away in 2005. He then married Pauline Morris in 2008. Kenneth volunteered for 12 years with the Mended Hearts Foundation. He is survived by his wife Pauline; daughters Dawn (Jeff) Hepner, and Michele (Mike) Walker; stepdaughter Robin (Jeremy) King; grandsons Joshua (Brooke Dodson) Beer, Bronson Walker, Cole Hepner, and Matthew Hepner; granddaughters Jordan King and Camryn King; great granddaughter Gemma Beer; sisters Marilyn (Al) Beaver and Beverly (Wes) Drought; and brother Burdette (Trina) Andersen. Kenneth is predeceased by his parents, his sister Janet Roberts, and his brother Jim Andersen.
