Kathleen Bostwick

Kathleen Cynthia Brush Bostwick, age 74 of Loves Park, IL passed away on February 8, 2023. She was born to the late Marvin and Phyllis (Barnes) Brush in Sycamore, IL on May 25, 1948.  If the epitome of strength, independence, perseverance and SASS, had a name it would have been Kathy Bostwick. Mother to her daughters, Grandma to her grandchildren, Nana/GG to her great-grandchildren she was kept on her toes by a family who was full of the off the wall stories, laughter and love. Together with Jack Bostwick, Kathy raised a generation of independent “do it our damn self”, woman.  Leslie Bostwick of Loves Park, IL whom her love of animals and free spirt will live on through, Tina (Dennis) Ritter of Navarre, FL whom her perseverance and hardworking nature will live on through and Kathleen “Punky” (Jim) Bostwick-Lamb of Loves Park, IL whom her independence and empathy will live on through.  We know you’re looking down relishing in joy of just how much of you, is living on through each of your children and your grandchildren; Taylor (Quentin) Bostwick- Pfortmiller of Rockford, IL, Tiffani Bostwick- Pfortmiller of Loves Park, IL, Morgan (Kyle) Bostwick-Cottier of Madison, WI and Ethan Bostwick of Loves Park, IL, Ashlee (Sean) Ritter-Thomas of Gulf Breeze, FL, Brittany (Vince) Mungle of Pleasant View, UT, Celsie (Jonathon) Ritter-Russell of Navarre, FL, Michael (Felicity) Ritter of Gulf Breeze, FL, Felicia (Brian) Hernandez of Crystal Lake, IL, and your great-grandchildren; Alena, Bryson, Ayianna, Harmonii and Riyah, Ji-Ran, Wyatt and Sarah, Destinee and Nolan, Braelyn, Paxtyn, Sage and Bohdi, Axel, Aubree, Christopher and Skylar. What a legacy, what a life.  We invite each of you to keep her alive in your hearts.  We were each touched by her presence and we are better people because of her.  We find comfort knowing you’re free from the confines of illness.  Watching us all from above now, as we grow and flourish in a world without your physical presence, but continue to embody your spirit.  We feel you beaming with light and freedom in your new place of rest, wearing your accomplishments earth side with honor and gratitude as you’re finally reunited and embraced in heaven by your mother, father, husband Jack, sister Barbara and great-grandson Sean.
