Katherine Crone

Katherine "Katie" Susan Crone, 57, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Katie was born to Caroline and Elmer Nolden on April 15, 1963 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Katie married John Crone on June 17, 1992. Katie was known for her time spent in retail, both at Kmart and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Katie enjoyed crocheting, and took great pride in being the creator of Beautiful Doilies. Katie admired her time with her grandchildren, and loved them dearly. She was always in the mood for a good slice of pizza or a burger. Katie is survived by her husband of 28 wonderful years, John; sons, Anthony (Allison) Crone of Lake Mary, Florida, and Adam Crone of Alton, Illinois; grandchildren, Parker Palmer and Seryna Crone; siblings, Shirley (Darrell) Vorndran, Tim (Kathy) Nolden, Bev (Larry) Skwor, Cindy (Bob) Hackett, all of Baraboo, Wisconsin; father-in-law, Ted Crone of Edwardsville, Illinois; sister-in-law, Pam (Eric) Poppe of Collinsville, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline and Elmer; Brothers, Ronald Nolden and Jerald Nolden; Mother-in-law, Ruth Crone.  Due to recent health concerns, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
