Juanita Karla Wundsam, 64 of Arlington Heights IL, passed away on March 28, 2025. Born on December 18, 1960, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Jose Defiesta and Nancy Trent.
A dedicated preschool teacher, filled with warmth and kindness. Her passion for community and faith shone through her service at Hope Lutheran Church, where she joyfully contributed as a percussionist and vocalist for the praise band.
Juanita was crowned Mrs. Philippines, but her proudest titles were those of mother and grandmother. She found joy in gardening, crafting, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Juanita's children remember her as "the light and energy that filled the room. She loved to dance, sing and play the tambourine. Her smile was contagious and her humor beloved. She had passion and spunk for each student she taught. She will be dearly missed".
Juanita is survived by her daughter Kylie (Sam) Csukor; son George (Kelly) Wundsam; grandchildren; William Csukor (11); and James Csukor (8). Predeceased by Aurelia Defiesta; Jose Defiesta; and Ramona Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12, 2025, at 10am at Hope Lutheran Church, Long Grove, IL. 1660 Checker Rd, Long Grove, IL 60047. Flowers and donations could be given to Hope Lutheran Church, or to Kylie's home, 722 Tamarack Lane, Rockford, IL 61107.
