Juanita Vogt

July 25, 1949 — January 20, 2024

Juanita H. Vogt,74, born July 25, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of James and Lucretia Vogt. A lifelong member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Juanita graduated from East High School in 1967. and then went to go graduate from Rock Valley College. She was a bookkeeper for Rock River Distributors and Jeld-Win. She played the accordion, organ, clarinet, and guitar, but couldn’t sing a note! She loved to play the slots and bingo and in her younger days traveled and taught CCD. Juanita loved her dogs and her birds and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved our Lord and her Catholic faith.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers-in-law Gary Kammerer and John Pope.

Survived by her sisters Theresa Pope, Cecilia Carter, and Dorothea (Ray) Barger of Rockford; nephews Steven Kammerer of Chicago, Eric, (Kendra) Barger, of Kansas; nieces Theresa and Helen Carter of Rockford, Elyssa (Collin) Baulch of Utah; great-nephews Nicholas, Johnathan, and Anthony Carter of Rockford, Devyn Barger in USAF, Declan Baulch of Utah; and great-niece Carlee Carter of Rockford.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Promedica Hospice (Heartland), Sarah and Ellie, and St. Anne’s Place for their loving care and helpfulness.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St., Rockford, IL 61109, with Rev. Reichardt officiating.
