Juanita Castro

Juanita Castro, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021, in Rochelle, Illinois. Juanita was born on February 8, 1940, to Emilia and Santos Suniga in Natalia, Texas. Juanita loved spending time in her garden, paying special attention to her flowers. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, but above all else, spending time with her friends, family and loved ones. Juanita is survived by her children, Jr Castro and Beth Smith, Debbie Smith, and Ricky Castro (partner, Troy Johnson); grandchildren, Frank and Cassey Arriaga, Josh and Melissa Smith, Rosie and Tim Hinkens, Brandi Smith (partner, Chris Carter), Leslie and Andrew Freeman, Santos Castro and 9 great-grandchildren, with baby number 10 on the way. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Emilia and Santos and daughter, Norma Arriaga. Per Juanita’s request, a private family celebration of life will take place.
