Joyce Kruschka

February 3, 1943 — January 15, 2025

Joyce Alice Kruschka, 81, of Byron, IL, passed away in her home surrounded by family on January 15, 2025. She was born on February 3, 1942, in Chicago, IL; the daughter of George and Borghild (Reinertsen) Cooper. She was married to John Kruse on November 4, 1961, he passed away on September 29, 2021. Joyce had been a union member and driver for Public Works in Niles, IL. She was a very crafty person and even sold her creations at Christmas and craft fairs. Joyce enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends. Family was always her priority, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughters Cheryl (Ron) Vertucci and Christine (Tim) Anderson; granddaughters Stephanie Nagrodess, Heather Garrity, and Desiree (Marc) Talavera; brother Stanley (Kathleen) Cooper; and nieces Laure Martinek and Janet Haas. She is predeceased by her parents George and Borghild Cooper; husband John Kruse; and sisters Gloria Schumacher and Leni Scott.
