Joseph Schatz

Joseph Henry Schatz, born April 29, 1925 in Cresco, Iowa to Albert and Walburga Schatz. Joseph passed peacefully at home on May 8, 2021 at 96 years of age. Joe worked the family farm in Iowa before enlisting for 2 tours of duty during WW II. Joe loved family, food, playing cards and driving anything with wheels. Joe enjoyed watching the Cubs on television as often as possible. Joe was a worker, helping anyone in need with whatever task needed to be done. Joe is survived by his wife, Grace Schatz; children Sid Schatz, Lin Schatz, Stephanie Steele, and Jo-Dell Reithmeier, and Jonathan Borger. Joe is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Carpenter, Rebecca Kirk, Carra Reithmeier, Raeanne Reithmeier, and many more; great-grandchildren Madison Kirk, Nadia Reithmeier, and Gabriel Wyman. There are also many additional survivors that are too numerous to list.  A celebration of Josephs life will be announced at a later date.
